Situated underneath the cafe at Afan, we can supply a wide range of high quality bikes - from childrens to full suspension All Mountain bikes.
Now open 7 days/week  - we also have mechanics on site for those biking emergencies.
All our mountain bikes have disc brakes and every bike is fully checked and maintained after each ride. 
The hire price you see includes everything you need to get out riding - helmet, tool-pack, pump & lock (no extra charges for bike-washing, we do it for you and it's all included.) You will also need some form of photo ID and proof of address, You will also need to provide a £200 security deposit on each bike hired. 
You will need to bring suitable clothing for your ride (we recommend wearing several thin layers (rather than one thick one) with a wind or water proof outer shell on the top and a pair of gloves the colder it is the more layers you should wear) and a small back pack to put your spare clothing etc in or you can buy it from our ever-expanding range in the Hire Shop.

TERMS & CONDITIONS:
Proof of Identity:
Photo ID must be provided on the day of hire (driving licence / passport or similar) - this will be retained for the period of hire.
Booking & Payment:
The full hire fee must be paid upon booking to guarantee you a bike. The deposit of £200 per bike can be made on the day, and can be cash or card. This will be held against any damage to the bike.
The hire fee includes helmet, pump, tools & a spare tube - any loss will incur an additional charge.
Safety & Security:
Helmets must be worn at all times, and bikes must be locked whenever unattended (please request a lock if this is likely to be the case.) Children under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult. Remember your safety is your responsibility, make sure you have suitable clothing and some means of calling for help (should the need arise.) if in doubt ask one of our staff and they will be glad to help.
Late Returns:
Late returns will incur a charge of £10 for the first half hour and £15 for upto 1 hour thereafter. If you are going to be later than 1 hour you will need to make arrangements to drop the bike of at 9am the following morning where a full days fee will be charged (bikes returned after 9:30am will incur penalty charges at a rate of £10/hour. All bikes must be returned by 5pm unless otherwise arranged.
Insurance:
Personal insurance cover is not included. We recommend you take out personal insurance cover prior to the hire period if you require cover.
Damage/Breakages:
All Damage or Breakages, must be reported immediatley, (no matter how they are caused) where upon we will advice on the best cause of action. please also note there is a ranger service which will in an emergency coordinate rescue of injured or lost riders. We do not have vehicular access to the forest, so are unable to recover lost or injured riders or damaged bikes. If something goes wrong it is your responsibility to get yourself and our bike safely of the Mountain. please make sure you have suitable clothing and a map (available from the shop @ £2-00 each)
Out of hours service:
There is currently no out of hours ranger service, in extreme emergencies call 999. if you are intending to ride one of our bikes outside of opening hours, you will need to book for two days, and you must be prepared for all eventualities, we will not be around to help you out!
